Collin Morikawa is an accomplished American professional golfer who competes on the PGA Tour. He began his PGA Tour career with an exceptional streak of 22 consecutive cuts made, the second-longest streak to start a career, trailing only Tiger Woods’ record of 25. Morikawa has achieved six PGA Tour victories, including two major championships: the 2020 PGA Championship and the 2021 Open Championship, both of which he won in his debut appearances. This remarkable feat made him the first player to win two majors on debut.
Before turning professional in 2019, Morikawa had a successful amateur career, highlighted by spending three weeks as the top-ranked golfer in the World Amateur Golf Ranking in May 2018. He also became the first American to win the Race to Dubai on the European Tour, further establishing his global presence in professional golf.

5’6″ Katherine Morikawa was born in Vancouver, British Columbia to Mike Zhu, a former tennis player who graduated from Beijing Sports University.
31-year-old Katherine (b. Jan 13. 1994) graduated in 2014, from Zhuji Hailand Private High School in China, prior to relocating to the United State where she is pursuing a major in International Management from Pepperdine University.
Collin Morikawa and Katherine Zhu, who had been dating since their college years, got engaged in November 2021. Morikawa proposed in the Bahamas, an event that he said made him more nervous than competing in golf. The couple married on November 26, 2022, in Los Angeles. Their dog, Koa, even dressed in a tux for the occasion.

Amateur Career
Collin Morikawa played college golf at the University of California, Berkeley, from 2015 to 2019, where he won five times, including the 2019 Pac-12 Conference Championship. He also won the Western Junior, Trans-Mississippi Amateur, Sunnehanna Amateur, and the Northeast Amateur. He played on the winning Arnold Palmer Cup team in 2017 and 2018, the winning Walker Cup team in 2017, and the Eisenhower Trophy team in 2018 that finished second. In May 2018, he was the top-ranked golfer in the World Amateur Golf Ranking for three weeks.
Professional Career
2019
Morikawa made his professional debut at the 2019 RBC Canadian Open, tying for 14th place. He then tied for second at the 3M Open and tied for 4th at the John Deere Classic, securing PGA Tour membership for the 2019–20 season. He won his first PGA Tour event at the Barracuda Championship.
2020
Morikawa tied for the lead at the 2020 Charles Schwab Challenge but lost in a playoff. He then missed his first cut on the PGA Tour at the Travelers Championship, ending a streak of 22 consecutive made cuts. He beat Justin Thomas in a playoff to win the Workday Charity Open. He won the 2020 PGA Championship, making it his first major in only his second major championship start.
2021
Morikawa won the 2021 WGC-Workday Championship. He also won the 2021 Open Championship. He finished tied for 3rd place at the Olympic Games, losing in a 7-man playoff for the bronze medal. He played on the U.S. team in the 2021 Ryder Cup, which the U.S. team won. He won the European Tour’s season-ending DP World Tour Championship, Dubai, and became the first American to win the Race to Dubai.
2022
In February, Morikawa finished tied-second at the Genesis Invitational.
2023
At the Sentry Tournament of Champions, Morikawa held a six-shot lead after 54 holes but finished second. He finished solo third at the Farmers Insurance Open. He tied for the lead at the Rocket Mortgage Classic but lost in a playoff, finishing tied-second. He won the Zozo Championship, ending a 27-month winless drought on the PGA Tour.
